USA HOCKEY 2023-2024 MEMBERSHIP

• Beginning April 1, 2023 you must register through USA Hockey for a new 2023-2024 registration membership number. (Required to register for STSAHA). The cost is free for managers.

SOUTHTOWNS STARS REGISTRATION

• Beginning April 1, 2023 and after you register for your new USA Hockey membership number you must register as a manager on the Southtowns Stars website. There is no cost for this, but all coaches  must register and be able to provide their new 2023-2024 USA Hockey membership number. This should be completed no later than July 1, 2023

BACKGROUND SCREENING

• Beginning April 1, 2023 you must be sure you are properly screened through the USA Hockey approved NCSI. Your screening is good for 2 hockey seasons. The cost is about $30 for the 2 years. This should be completed by July 1, 2023.

SAFESPORT TRAINING

• Beginning April 1, 2023 of this season (‘23-’24) all coaches, managers & staff will be required to take the Safesport Training Course annually. The link can be found below. There is no cost for this and it should be completed before July 1, 2023 to facilitate ease of the rostering process.

How do I schedule referees for home games?

• Teams are responsible for scheduling their own refs.  Jerry Sprada from Buffalo Refs is our league scheduler for home game ref scheduling. Please email him your schedules (can be sent in a spreadsheet) as they are completed at jerrysprada@yahoo.com and indicate the following in the email:
  • Team Name/HC/Manager
  • Age Classification (10U MOHL, 14UNTB, etc)
  • Travel or MOHL
  • Period lengths
  • Date and time of game
  • Who you're playing against
• You must also email Chris Roswell (chrisr@holidayrinks.com) from Leisure. He will reserve the locker rooms.
• After a few days, please verify that your games are scheduled by visiting http://my.horizonwebref.com/. Use the following to login:
  • username- jcione
  • password- Stsrefs1$
  • On the right side of the page is where you should see two referees scheduled for your game.  If not, contact Jerry.

• 40 hours of ice

**Team Budgets Must Include: 100% percent of requested & scheduled ice

ICE TIME:

Travel and MOHL managers should include at least 40 hours of ice, any extra ice should be added to their team budget. At this time, please estimate 1 hour of ice at $255. 40 hours of ice are covered in the Southtowns Stars registration fees.
